Tire industry calls for suspension of implementation of new compound rubber standards

China Rubber Network News: "Since last year, some companies in the tire industry have gone bankrupt, and the industry's efficiency has dropped by more than 30%. China's tire industry is already in a critical moment! If the new standard for composite rubber is implemented at this moment, it will undoubtedly make the tire industry worse, and it will inevitably affect the entire upstream and downstream industries." On June 14, at the progress report meeting on the US tire "double anti-dumping" case and other work held by the China Rubber Industry Association in Dalian, dozens of tire companies attending the meeting mentioned the national standard for composite rubber "General Technical Specifications for Composite Rubber" to be implemented on July 1, and asked the association to represent the companies to reflect the demands of tire companies to the relevant national departments, and asked the standard-setting departments to consider the actual situation of the industry and suspend the implementation of the new standard for composite rubber.
The formulation of the new standard has been controversial from the beginning to the end
Xu Wenying, Secretary-General of the China Rubber Association, introduced that it was learned from the national standard-setting department that in the process of formulating industry standards in my country, no standard had caused such a big controversy like composite rubber, and it was issued under serious controversy. The composite rubber standard is unique.
Although the tire industry raised firm objections during the formulation of the new standard, the "General Technical Specifications for Composite Rubber" was still publicly solicited for comments in August last year. For this reason, tire companies raised objections one after another within a week of soliciting opinions, explained the reasons for their objections, and put forward suggestions for revisions. The China Rubber Industry Association also reported the situation to the relevant ministries and commissions many times, clearly raised objections, and elaborated in detail the inoperability of the change in the composite rubber standard and the significant impact on the tire industry, and also put forward suggested measures to solve the problem. However, on December 31, 2014, the "General Technical Specifications for Composite Rubber" was still officially released and is scheduled to be officially implemented on July 1 this year.
