Rubber Industry 4.0 cannot be achieved overnight

China Rubber Network News: If the rubber industry wants to achieve the "4.0" of intelligent transformation, it must first make up for "2.0" and "3.0". Following the trend without the foundation of digitalization and informatization can only achieve half the result with twice the effort or even be counterproductive. This was learned from the "Replacing People with Machines" Intelligent Production Theme Summit of the Tire and Rubber Industry held in Shenyang from August 19 to 21.
Deng Yali, President of the China Rubber Industry Association, said that intelligent manufacturing is the main trend of future development of the manufacturing industry, and accelerating the integration with the new generation of information technology is also the commanding heights of future development competition for enterprises, but the implementation of intelligent transformation in the rubber industry cannot be achieved overnight, and not all enterprises need to "4.0" now. New projects should be a high starting point, and the focus of transformation projects and small and medium-sized enterprises is to make up for "2.0" and "3.0" and promote 4.0. Before making up for the lessons, it is necessary to change the mindset, drive technological innovation, process innovation, and management innovation with equipment updates, and change the past development model that relies on low-cost labor.
It is understood that the basic conditions for intelligent manufacturing in the rubber industry vary greatly. Some companies have already had the rudiments of intelligent manufacturing, while some companies have not yet realized informatization, and some links are even still relying on manual labor. According to Fan Rende, honorary president of the China Rubber Industry Association, the overall level of intelligent manufacturing in the rubber industry is relatively low, with informatization (such as ERP/PLM and other software) coverage and enterprise coverage rates both around 30%, and the seamless connection between various platforms is poor. At the same time, rubber companies are still not aware of and capable of using the Internet, and Internet companies do not have a deep understanding of traditional industries, so close cooperation is needed between the two sides.
